Hyatt Hotels and Resorts disclosed at a recent tourism exhibition that it will open 12 new hotels in China, including two in Shanghai, in the next three years.

The two brands to land in Shanghai are Hyatt Regency and Park Hyatt,

The others include a Park Hyatt in Beijing that will be opened in 2007, a Grand Hyatt in Guangzhou and eight Hyatt Regency hotels which will be respectively located in Beijing, Chongqing, Beijing-Tianjin New Town, Nanjing, Ningbo, North Bund Shanghai and Suzhou.

Hyatt launched its first hotel in China, Hyatt Regency Tianjin, in 1990, but it is not until now that it has quickened its expansion in the Chinese market.
