Tianjin Binhai Airport will be Hainan Airlines' northern hub, reports local media.

Hainan Airlines' Grand Air Express will be responsible for flying out of Tianjin. Grand Air expects to fly up to 100 planes within five years.

Hainan Airlines will invest a RMB100 million into the new carrier once it is based in Tianjin.
