Dunhuang Zhixing, which claims to be the first budget hotel brand in Gansu Province, has opened in Lanzhou, the province's capital city.

Dunhuang Zhixing has been transformed from its previous incarnation of the Yellow River Hotel, an affiliate of Lanzhou Ruida Travel Service.

The hotel hopes to price its nightly rates at RMB80, with super budget priced rooms as low as RMB58.

Lanzhou Ruida Travel Service plans to open 10 to 20 franchised hotels in the next five years.
