The Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT) will lead its annual tourism-building mission in China this week to present details about Nevada's resort hotels, aerial sightseeing, entertainment, adventure, cultural sites and other visitor attractions.
The 15-member delegation was assembled by NCOT, which this month is celebrating its second anniversary of being granted a license by the People's Republic of China to advertise Nevada as a visitor destination to outbound Chinese.
NCOT also operates a fulltime office in Beijing.
"China is a very significant tourism market for Nevada, and it is our desire to welcome as many Chinese visitors as possible to our state," Director Bruce Bommarito said. "Our annual visit to China enables us to meet Chinese tour operators and other tourism industry officials and describe our world-class resort hotels, shows, cuisine, shopping, scenic wonders and outdoor recreation so that more Chinese people will make Nevada their U.S. destination."
Various members of the delegation will make presentations in Beijing June 15 and Guangzhou June 19. NCOT has brought delegations to China for several years to help build tourism between Nevada and China and also participates in the annual China International Travel Market trade show.
In addition to Bommarito and several other NCOT officials, the delegation will include representatives of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority; the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority; Harrah's Entertainment; and Planet Hollywood.
