Shanghai-based real estate developer Zendai Group is shifting its focus to the hotel industry with the launch of its new Zendai Lisheng Hotel.

Zendai will also soon spend RMB2 billion to build a five-star hotel called the Himalaya in Pudong, Shanghai.

Located at Damuzhi Square, Zendai Lisheng Hotel is surrounded by large supermarkets, themed shopping malls, boutiques and entertainement establishment.

The five-star hotel Himalaya will consist of 700 rooms with a 30000 square meter art museum. The construction of the hotel is expected to be completed in 2009.

Besides the two hotel projects, Zendai has also signed a letter of intent with Zhong Xin Tai Fu and Zhejiang Hongda Group on the reconstruction of Holiday Mall at Zhujiajue. This involves a total investment of about RMB2 billion.
