Shangri-La Pazhou, Guangzhou is scheduled to open during the fourth quarter of 2006, and Robert Bormes, the hotel's Area Manager and Pazhou's General Manager, has announced new members of the hotel's executive team.

Patrick Low has been hired as the hotel's Resident Manager. Low has over 6 years of experience from various pre-opening and post-opening management positions with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and over 18 years of award winning hotel and resort operation experience in Malaysia, Thailand, South Africa, Hong Kong and China. Prior to joining Shangri-La Pazhou, Guangzhou as Resident Manager, Low worked in the Swiss-Belhotel International Limited as Director of Operations and Development.

The hotel's new Director of Sales and Marketing will be Jorgen Christensen. A graduate of IHTTI School of Hotel Management in Neuchatel, Switzerland, Christensen has over 20 years of hotel and hospitality experience with Scandinavia’s largest tour operator STARTOUR Fritidsresor and several boutique style and international upmarket hotel companies. He is also a graduate of Tsinghua University in Beijing where he studied to improve his Mandarin skills.

Chris Mou has been appointed as Shangri-La Pazhou's Director of Rooms. Prior to this position, Mou was Director of Rooms in the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai from December 2004 to April 2006 and Front Office Manager at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei. Mou has been with Shangri-La since 1993 in various positions. He holds a Baccalaureate of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne, Australia and has over 13 years of experience in various luxury hotels.
