Thomas Schmitt-Glaeser has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager for Food & Beverage at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai.

A German national, Schmitt-Glaeser brings with him 18 years of international hotel experience, culled from his various postings in Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Thailand.

This is the first posting to China for Schmitt-Glaeser, who was previously with the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, in Thailand, where he was Director of Food & Beverage for the last two years.

At the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, he will be responsible for the operation of 12 designer restaurants, bars and lounges showcasing the works of international award-winning creative mavericks like Adam D.Tihany, Bilkey Llinas Design and Super Potato.

He will also oversee the meeting and banquet operations, spread out over 6,500 square meters of versatile indoor and outdoor event space.
