Cendant's Days Inn is expanding its franchises in China and has appointed four new general managers to head operations in various Chinese cities.
Eugene Lee has been appointed as General Manager of Days Hotel Shanghai, which is scheduled to open in October 2006. Lee comes from Singapore and has 15 years' working experience in China's hotel Industry. He started his professional career in China with Shanghai JC Mandarin, as one of the hotel pre-opening team members in 1990, and later transferred to Meritus Mandarin Haikou as General Manager.
Peter Tay has been appointed as General Manager of Days Hotel & Suites Jiaozuo, which is scheduled to open in early 2007. Tay comes from Singapore and he has ten years of working experience working in Chinese hotels. He was involved in the pre-opening of numerous Shangri-La hotels in China and also received training with Westin Hotels & Resorts Group.
Days Hotel Huizhou, which is scheduled to open in August 2006, has chosen Tony Qin as its first General Manager. Prior to this appointment, Qin was General Manager of Sunny Hotel in Huizhou, and has held senior positions in international chain hotels such as Howard Johnson, Hilton and InterContinental.
David Qu has been appointed as General Manager of Days Hotel Shenzhen. Before taking up the appointment, Qu held various positions at the Resort Horizon, Sanya; Guobin Grand Hotel, Wuhan; and Zhongshan Parkwin Hotel, Dalian. He was also Deputy GM of Tianrui Super 8 Hotel Beijing and GM of Star Hotel Harbin.
