GECAS has signed a cooperation agreement for Xiamen Airlines to nine Boeing 737-800 aircraft for ten years.

According to their agreement, GECAS will deliver the first plane to Xiamen Airlines in the middle of 2008, and the remaining planes will arrive in 2009.

Xiamen Airlines currently runs a Boeing crew of 38 Boeing 737 and Boeing 757-200 for more than 100 domestic and international lines started from Xiamen, Fuzhou, Jinjiang, Wuyishan, Hangzhou and Nanchang.

Yang Guanghua, general manager of Xiamen Airlines, says his company will introduce 42 planes during the 11th Five-Year Period to develop more flights both home and abroad. Yang says that apart from expanding flights in Southeast Asia, they will also increase more flights to Northeast Asia in the future.
