Puzhehei Airport in Yunnan's Wenshan area inaugurates operations at the beginning of September.
The airport is constructed as a 4C lateral airport, available for the landing and departure of B737 planes. Involving a total investment of more than RMB300 million, it is designed to receive 150,000 passengers per year.
Li Wenrong, vice-mayor of Wenshan, isays that the construction of the airport was started in April of 2004, and has now been approved by Civil Aviation Administration of China for formal opening.
China Southern will manage the airport, and will launch four flights per week on every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday for lines to Nanning and Kunming.
