Shangri-La Pazhou, Guangzhou, which is scheduled to open in early January 2007, has announced the appointment of Dexter Cheng as Executive Assistant Manager-Food and Beverage.

Cheng has over 15 years of experience in the hotel industry specializing in food and beverage management. His work experience includes both 5-star City Hotels and Resorts in his native Malaysia and also hotels in Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines and China.

Cheng is responsible for hiring the entire food and beverage team, training and leading the team to meet the standard and quality of Shangri-La. Prior to joining the team, Cheng worked in Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort, Singapore, and previously has experience from Guangdong as Director of Food and Beverage in the Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen.
