Potala Palace in Lhasa has begun construction of a tourist center to satisfy demand for better service and ease the pressure for the construction of the palace itself.

According to Tibet Administration of Cultural Heritage, the project will be finished next year. Occupying 471 square meters, the tourist center will be a Tibetan style building located at the foot of Potala Palace.

A projection hall will be set in the center to introduce the history and cultural heritage of Potala Palace to tourists. There will also be a rest area for tourists who are waiting to enter Potala Palace.
