According to the statistics released by the National Tourism and Holiday Office, China had 133 million domestic and foreign tourists during the past Golden Week holiday, an increase of 19.3% compared with the same period last year.
Income of RMB55.9 billion, an increase of 20.7% from last year, was also recorded China-wide.
Among the RMB55.9 billion income, RMB2.45 billion came from the civil aviation industry, which maintained the same level as last year. RMB1.31 billion was from railway transportation, an annual increase of 6.9%.
The 39 main Chinese travel cities earned an income of RMB24.1 billion, and other cities and scenic spots made RMB28 billion.
