Wang Qimin, Secretary General of Huangshan Municipal Government, has disclosed to local media that they are discussing with Hong Kong Ocean Park the construction of a tourist destination in the Huangshan Mountain area.

Wang says that the municipal government has already invested more than RMB20 billion on strengthening the infrastructure in the Huangshan Mountain area.

Huangshan Airport has flights to more than 10 major cities on the Chinese mainland, and has also launched flights to Hong Kong, Macao, Korea and Japan. Wang expects Huangshan to receive 20 million tourists by 2010, which can bring an income of RMB20 billion. Of that, inbound overseas tourists are expected to reach 1.08 million, bringing US$250 million income.

At present, there are more than 60 star-grade hotels and 100 travel agencies in Huangshan.
