Tourism bureaus from Taiyuan in Shanxi Province in northern China and Guilin in Guangxi Province in southern China have signed a memorandum of understanding on mutually supervising the travel service in the two regions.
According to the agreement, the two tourism bureaus will supervise travel agencies together in the future to protect tourists' interests. Tourism supervision departments in these two places will share their information regarding market checks, travel information and complaints among their travel agencies.
The agreement gives special attention to complaints and disputes in the tourism industry. It says that once there is a complaint oinvolved, the supervision departments at the two regions should support each other to make sure that the problem can be tackled smoothly.
