Shanghai Civil Aviation Department reports that from December 1, the fuel surcharge for the line from Shanghai to Hong Kong has been reduced by 3.4% from RMB117 to RMB113.

As the international oil price has been declining since October, many international airlines have decreased their fuel surcharges.

As approved by Hong Kong Civil Aviation Management Department, a number of airlines that run flights between the mainland and Hong Kong, including China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines, Air China, Xiamen Airlines, Cathy Pacific and Dragonair, decreased their fuel surcharges after December 1 and the reduction rate ranges from 3.1% to 3.4%.

The new fuel surcharge standard will stay valid until January 31, 2007.
