Zhang Xiqin, Deputy Director General of the China National Tourism Administration, disclosed at the 2nd Sichuan Province Winter Travel Development Conference that the number of inbound tourists in China for 2006 will reach 124 million and outbound travelers will top 34 million.

Zhang says that inbound tourists to the mainland from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan has reached 90-100 million, and inbound tourists from other overseas countries will be more than 20 million, increasing by 3.4% compared with the same period in 2005.

Zhang also says that the domestic travel market will see 1.38 billion tourists in 2006, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2005, of which 34 million will be outbound tourists.
