During the World Travel Fair 2005, the Shanghai Municipal Government announced that it would build a travel centre in Hamburg (Germany) and use it as a window to showcase Shanghai's travel culture to people living in Europe.

It is learned the centre will be built in the form of a Chinese tea house.

It is expected to be completed in 2006 and RMB10 million will be needed for the construction.
