After 12 years of waiting and going through application processes, Ningbo Lishe Airport has finally been approved as an international airport. This will be the fifth international airport in the Yangtze River Delta region.

There are 50,000 foreigners with permanent residency and also people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan living in Ningbo. Now that there is an international airport, it will offer greater convenience for these people.

There are rumors also that some unnamed foreign airline companies will open routes to Ningbo.
