Sofitel Boao has won a Golden Pillow Award and was ranked in second place for the Top 10 Most Popular Resorts in China. The hotel also earned the Best Public Image Award.

The China Hotel Golden Pillow Awards are sponsored by the 21st Century Economic Tribune and took place at the Pine Valley International Club of Hua Bin Mansion in Beijing on the evening of April 18, 2005.

Ole Nielson, General Manager of the Sofitel Boao visited Beijingto accept the award.

73 five-star resorts from China's popular tourist cities like Sanya, Kunming, Suzhou, Wuxi, Xi'an and Guilin participated in the competition. It took 3 months with around 20,000 hotel guests voting on location and more than 200,000 other people voting over the Internet.
