China Southern Airlines has launched a new Caring Foundation, with an initial donation of US$265,000, to help students with dire financial difficulties located at 11 major universities, including Beijing University and Shanghai's Fudan University.

China Southern Airlines established its foundation with a total sum of US$2.4 Million and announced plans to increase its foundation pledge by US$640,000 each year by drawing RMB 0.1 from each passenger airline ticket.

This foundation has been set up despite the rise of oil price and fierce competition in aviation market and it's vitally important for a growing number of people in China to demonstrate their charitable commitments, said Mr. Liu Shaoyong, Chairman, China Southern Airlines.
