Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has appointed Shadow Wong as its new senior corporate public relations manager.

Wong is based in the group's corporate office in Hong Kong, reporting to the vice president, public relations. In her new position, Wong is responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementing of corporate public relations functions focusing on Asia media, excluding mainland China.

Wong has 18 years experience in the publishing and public relations fields in both the public and private sectors. Previously, Wong was public affairs manager at the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. Before that, Wong was in charge of the communications arm of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority and was responsible for corporate communication at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

She was group public relations manager for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, she held editorial positions at the Oxford University Press (China) Ltd. and Reader's Digest Far East Ltd.
