Uganda has been added to the list of Chinese tourist destinations, China's foreign affairs ministry officials have said.
Uganda joins 12 other African countries that have been named for self-sponsored Chinese travellers.
The tourist promotion is dubbed, 'more contacts, more understanding, more business.'
Officials at the Uganda embassy said they were receiving numerous enquiries from tourists who want to visit the country.
In 2004, China added Mauritius, Zimbabwe, tanzania, Kenya, ethiopia, Seychelles, Tunisia and Zambia on the list of destinations. Formerly, the approved African countries were South Africa, Egypt and Morocco.
