Despite four days of continuous rain during last week's National Day Holiday, Shanghai still received 3.874 million visitors and RMB2.504 billion in travel dollars.

According to the China Tourism Administration, the figure of 3.874 million visitors is 2.84% lower than the same period last year, but the average expenditure of each visitor was 7.8% higher than last year.

During the holiday week, indoor spots such as the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall in Renmin Square, the Shanghai Technology and Science Museum, the Shanghai Museum, and Shanghai Aquarium were very popular among visitors.

The number of people who visited those indoor spots was 20% higher than the same period last year.
