Sightseeing bus company Gray Line is working with the Beijing Tourism Bureau to introduce Gray Line's doubledecker travel buses in Beijing before 2008.
According to Zhao Qing, manager for Gray Line in Beijing, the new buses will be designed with an open-air section upstairs, and special bus stops will be designed for it near hotels, key scenic spots and shopping malls.
In addition, the bus will be equipped with an automatic tour guide system and ticket selling system which provides multilingual explanations along the travel line.
Zhao says they have designed two feature routes in Beijing for the bus. One runs through Yansha, the East Third Ring CBD, Chang'an Avenue, Financial Street, and Qianmen and focuses on giving tourists a view of new Beijing.
The other line runs through Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Shenwumen, Beihai, and Tiananmen and shows old Beijing.
The ticket prices for both routes is expected to be around RMB250.
