The Xinjiang Kashi Municipal Tourism Bureau has announced an investment of RMB12 million to expand the Fragrant Concubine Garden and improve its related facilities.
The Fragrant Concubine Garden, also known as the tomb of Apak Khoja, a concubine of Emperor Qianglong in the Qing Dynasty, is five kilometers from downtown Kashi and is a national cultural relic protection site in China.
Tourists can wear the clothes of the Qing Dynasty people, take a sedan chair ride and take photos with women dressed like the Fragrant Concubine. Travelers can also taste the diverse local fruit and snacks.
The spots under the expansion plan will be neighboring the current Fragrant Concubine Garden. Upon completion of the expansion, the Garden is expected to become a tourist attraction that combines historical relics, folk architecture, religion and folk culture.
