American pop legend Cyndi Lauper's jokes found a ready audience in fellow vocalist Nellie Mackay and George Wee as the three had a chance converse. At the press conference prior to the concert itself, Cyndi Lauper and Alicia Keys were quick to offer their admiration of each other's musical abilities.

American songstress Silvia Tosun proudly displayed her traditional Chinese dress to the Beijing media. She wore another Chinese dress, created by the Shangri-La's tailor, for her appearance at the Wall of Hope concert on 26 September.
