Hilton International confirmed today that its management agreement for the operation of the 372-room Hilton Dalian terminated effective October 3.

Mr Koos Klein, President Hilton International Middle East Asia Pacific, said, “We have operated Hilton Dalian since it opened in August 2000.  Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to resolve long standing contractual issues with the owner and so, reluctantly, we have had to terminate our management agreement.”

The owning company of Hilton Dalian is Dalian Chang Jiang Plaza Company Limited.

Hilton International will continue to manage five Hilton hotels throughout China including Hilton Beijing, Hilton Shanghai, Hilton Nanjing, Hilton Chongqing and Hilton Shenzhen.  The group has also signed a management agreement with China Jin Mao Group Co., Ltd to open the 500-room Hilton Sanya Resort and Spa in early 2006. Meanwhile, construction of the Hilton Xiamen has started with the opening date scheduled for the end of 2006.
