During the course of the October holiday week, the price of plane tickets in some cases increased, while in others, customers were not able to get much more than a 10-20% discount (contrast this with several days before the holiday when 60-70% discounts were available).

Industry observers believe, however, that, with the passing of the National Day holiday, there will be a significant decrease in the amount of travelling, leading in turn to a reduction in the price of plane tickets. Current estimates include a 40% discount for flights from Shanghai to Beijing.
