Home Inns Reports Quarterly Earnings For China Operations

Chinese budget hotel chain Home Inns announced its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2007 and said total revenues for the quarter increased 82.9% year-over-year to RMB327.6 million, including revenues of RMB19.8million from the recently acquired Top Star hotel chain.

Worldhotels Renames Two Chinese Hotels

Worldhotels announced the renaming of two hotels from their collection in China: The Presidential Plaza Beijing has been renamed The Presidential Beijing and the previously named Seagull Hotel in Shanghai has been renamed The Seagull on the Bund.

Swire Hotels Launches With Properties In Greater China

Swire Properties announced the formation of Swire Hotels, and the opening of its first of four hotels in Greater China, beginning this summer with The Opposite House, Beijing, the first property to be managed by the new company.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board says it welcomes the various tourism-related proposals announced by the Financial Secretary John C Tsang in his Budget Speech on February 27.

Macau To Provide 38,000 Hotel Rooms

According to the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau of Macau, as of the fourth quarter of 2007, there were a total of 23 hotel projects under construction and another 33 waiting for approval around the city.
