Beijing Ups Tourism Investment To Over CNY1 Billion A Year
According to Ding Xiangyang, the vice mayor of Beijing, the Beijing municipal government is planning to invest more than CNY1 billion into the Chinese capital's tourism sector per year, starting in 2011.
Beijing's Inbound Tourist Numbers Decrease By 30.2% In July
The Beijing Municipal Tourism Bureau has published the statistics showing that in July 2008, the numbers of both inbound tourists staying overnight in Beijing and the number of domestic travelers staying in Beijing hotels decreased sharply.
Rates At Beijing Star-grade Hotels Decrease By 6%
Xiong Yumei, vice director of Beijing Tourism Bureau, said in a press conference held in the Beijing International Media Center that the booking volume of star-grade hotels in Beijing increased by 1% but rates went down six percentage points from the end of May 2008.
Fifteen Beijing Travel Agencies Have Licenses Revoked
The Beijing Tourism Bureau has unveiled the annual renewal results for travel agencies around the city and says that seventeen travel agencies have not passed the annual renewal review. Of these, fifteen have had their business licenses revoked.
