Sanya Curbs Price Hikes By Hoteliers

As of January 1, 2011 the Sanya Commodity Price Bureau, has approved room rates for 139 hotels in Sanya for the upcoming 2011 Spring Festival, which falls on February 2, 2011.

Hainan To Regulate Hotel Room Pricing

According to an official from the Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Commission, Hainan province will promulgate documents to regulate the market price of hotel rooms, set up an information publishing system, and to urge hotels to be self-regulating.

Fire Guts Mandarin Oriental Beijing Hotel Building

The 44-floor Television Cultural Tower in Beijing housing the new 241-room Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which was due to open in the summer of 2009, was gutted by fire on February 9,  the last night of the Chinese New Year.
