The highest room occupancy was in four-star hotels and reached 87.6%.<\/p>\n<p>The statistics show that in 2008, Macau received 4.9 million tourists, which was an increase of 15.8% over that of 2007. In December 2008, the region received 501,000 tourists, an increase of 16.2% over the same period of 2007.
