{"id":18591,"date":"2010-11-26T05:31:53","date_gmt":"2010-11-25T21:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/en\/?p=18591"},"modified":"2010-11-26T05:31:53","modified_gmt":"2010-11-25T21:31:53","slug":"construction-commences-on-wutai-mountain-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2010\/11\/26\/18591\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction Commences On Wutai Mountain Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the municipal government of Xinzhou in Shanxi province, construction of Wutai Mountain Airport has started and it is expected to be complete in 2012.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With a total investment of CNY600 million, the airport is built based on a military airport and is located in Dingxiang county, 33 kilometers northeast of Xinzhou city.<\/p>\n<p>Wutai Mountain Airport is designed to handle an annual throughput of 350,000 passengers, a cargo and mail volume of 1,570 tons, and 4,550 aircraft take offs and landings.<\/p>\n<p>After completion, tourists from Shanghai, Kunming, Sanya, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Changsha, and Urumqi will be able to take direct flights to the sacred mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Wutai Mountain is one of the Four Sacred Mountains in Chinese Buddhism.
