A German national, he is a veteran in the hospitality industry with over 30 years of experience. He has enjoyed a distinguished hospitality career in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Cairo, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. For the past 20 years, he has worked in Hong Kong and Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/080102-shangrilafutian-fong.gif\" title=\"Helene Fong\" alt=\"Helene Fong\" align=\"right\" \/>Helene Fong has been appointed director of marketing at the hotel. Fong, a Malaysian, has extensive hotel experience in mainland China including Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing. She will be responsible for the hotel's overall sales and marketing, reporting directly to Gerhard Hecker, the hotel's general manager.
