They target backpacking tourists and in the past were budget hotels for business travelers in China. However, following the expansion of budget hotels in 2006, youth hostels have lost an undisclosed number of customers in China. China's economy and budget hotel chains now include brands like Home Inn, Motel 168, and Jin Jiang Inn.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the present situation faced by youth hotels, the organizers of the conference set up a China Youth Hostels Development and Guide Commission in order to unify the brands, sales and purchasing of youth hotels throughout the country.
