{"id":31836,"date":"2007-02-16T05:33:31","date_gmt":"2007-02-15T21:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2007\/02\/16\/3156-motel-168-plans-ipo\/"},"modified":"2007-02-16T05:33:31","modified_gmt":"2007-02-15T21:33:31","slug":"motel-168-plans-ipo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2007\/02\/16\/31836\/","title":{"rendered":"Motel 168 Plans IPO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Motel 168, one of the three main budget hotel brands in China, plans to raise US$100 million through an initial public offering overseas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Motel 168, which is managed by Merrylin Holdings Limited, has invited Morgan Stanley to be its IPO consultant and plans to get listed on NASDAQ in the third quarter of this year.<\/p>\n<p>Local hoteliers say that Motel168 has arranged this IPO because is eager to get capital to compete with its competitors like Home Inn and Jin Jiang Hotels, which were listed in October and December, respectively, of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Motel 168 currently runs 50 hotels, which are mostly located in the prosperous eastern part of China.
