Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced new openings for its properties in Guangdong, Taiwan, and Xi'an.<\/p>\n
Starwood and Guangzhou Zhong Tian Ying Real Estate Development Company have signed an agreement whereby Starwood will manage Sheraton Huadu Resort in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The newly built 97-villa Sheraton resort is scheduled to open in January 2009.<\/p>\n
The global hotel company has also signed a a franchise agreement with Grace Construction Group to operate a hotel in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. The newly built 359-room Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel is scheduled to open in 2010.<\/p>\n
\"With a consistent high level of economic growth over the past few years which is forecast to continue, Taiwan offers good opportunities for both business and leisure travel markets. Starwood currently operates three hotels in Taiwan (under the Sheraton, Westin and Four Points by Sheraton brands) with another Sheraton Resort under construction in Yilan County,\" commented Miguel Ko, President, Asia Pacific Starwood Hotels & Resorts.<\/p>\n
Starwood has also inked a deal with Xian Yungao International Hotel Company for Starwood to manage a 296-room Westin in Xian. The hotel is expected to open in 2010. The Westin Xian will be part of a planned Great Tang All Day Mall, which is expected to become one of the world\u2019s longest cultural and commercial pedestrian malls in the world, including a scenic pedestrian street, tourism amenities, sightseeing features and trade and cultural facilities. The Westin Xian will be adjacent and within walking distance from the mall.<\/p>\n
The Westin Xian will be the seventh Westin hotel in mainland China, joining The Westin Shanghai, The Westin Beijing \u2013 Financial Street, The Westin Beijing at Chaoyang, The Westin Guangzhou, The Westin Nanjing and The Westin Zhejiang Resort, Nine Dragon Hill. The Westins in Guangzhou, Zhejiang, Beijing Chaoyang and Nanjing are slated to open in 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively. The Westin Xian will also be the second Starwood hotel in Xian, in addition to Sheraton Xian Hotel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
