It is expected the construction work will be completed and hotel be put into use in May 2008.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The expansion and reconstruction is part of the project for welcoming the 2008 Olympic Games when Beijing Hotel will serve as a headquarters hotel. The expansion project is located to the north of the current hotel, occupying a total area of 44,100 square meters.<\/p>\n<p>It will be built as a comprehensive property that combines business, serviceds apartment, conference facilities and parking.<\/p>\n<p>Close to Wangfujing Avenue to the east, the project is expected to become a large shopping center for international brands upon completion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second phase of expansion and reconstruction of Beijing Hotel has started.
