Intercontinental Chongqing has announced the new members of its Pre-Opening Executive Committee.

John Gardner has been appointed as the General Manager of the new Intercontinental Chongqing. Hailing from New Zealand and bringing a wealth of experience, Gardner has managed Sofitels, Novotels and Crowne Plaza hotels in many Asia Pacific countries, with the last 5 years spent in China.<\/p>\n

Intercontinental Chongqing has placed Robert Zhang as its new Deputy General Manager. Zhang started his career with the hotel industry 17 years ago working for various hotel companies such as Holiday Inn Yangtze Chongqing, Landmark Shenzhen, Grand Bay View Zhuhai, and Grand Sun City Changsha. He recently joined the Chongqing Damei Industrial Company Limited as Owner's representative of InterContinental Chongqing, where his responsibility is to work with the management team in its opening and operations.<\/p>\n

Jeraldine Tan will be Intercontinental Chongqing's new Resident Manager. Hailing from Singapore, Tan's first destination was with Jin Cang Mandarin Shanghai in the 1990's. She joined the Holiday Hospitality chain in 1993, which is now re-branded as InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).<\/p>\n

Chong Sheong Yao has been selected as Intercontinental Chongqing's new Director of Finance and Business Support. Yao graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accountancy in 1989 in New Zealand. Prior to joining InterContinental Chongqing, Yao served as a Director of Finance and Business Support in Crowne Plaza Longgang Shenzhen and also held the same position in various countries such as China, Myanmar and Singapore.<\/p>\n

John Lim will be the Director of Sales and Marketing for the new Intercontinental Chongqing. From Malaysia, Lim's hospitality career started in Singapore 15 years ago where he worked with several international companies such as Ritz-Carlton, Millennium and Copthorne, The Meritus Group and The Beaufort Hotels and Resorts. He joined the hotel industry as a waiter and gradually moved his way up over the years. Prior to joining InterContinental Chongqing, Lim has served as a Director of Sales and Marketing for two Crowne Plaza hotels in Shenzhen.<\/p>\n

Intercontinental Chongqing's New Director of Human Resources will be Aileen Xia. Xia graduated from South Western Teachers University majoring in English and has 18 years of experience in this industry which she accrued from several companies like Yinhe Dynasty Hotel in Chengdu, Sofitel Silver Plaza Jinan, and Kempinski Chengdu. Prior to joining InterContinental Chongq0ing, Aileen served as an Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Human Resources in Sofitel Xian.<\/p>\n

The Intercontinental Chongqing has chosen Henry Tay as its new Director of Food and Beverage. Originally from Singapore, Tay has extensive experience in the operational functions of a hotel and knows about developing new innovative restaurant and bar concepts. Prior to joining InterContinental Chongqing, Tay has served in various Food and Beverage positions in Marriott and Shangri-La Group in Hong Kong and Mainland China.<\/p>\n

The&nbsp;new Director of Engineering at the Intercontinental Chongqing will be Joseph Gu. Gu has more than 16 years of hotel experience gained from various hotels, including Kempinski Shenyang, Howard Johnson Hotel, Amara Hotel Chengdu and America Asia Hotel in United States. Gu plays a vital role in assuring a flawless power and water supply and smooth operations of the equipment and facilities in the hotel.<\/p>\n

Intercontinental Chongqing has put its trust in Pierre-Marie LePrince as the hotel's new Executive Chef. Prior to joining InterContinental Chongqing, LePrince served as an Executive Chef for Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa and Disneyland Resort Paris. He has accrued more than 20 years of experience with a career spanning France, Paris, Ireland, China and America. Starting out as an apprentice cook in France, Pierre worked his way up to the position of Executive Chef, a post he held at various hotels over the past 6 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
