An Australian national, Rice brings with him 17 years of international hotel experience, culled from his various postings in Hawaii, USA, China, Fiji and the Philippines.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This is the third posting to China for Rice, who has been with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for the last 13 years. He comes to Pudong Shangri-La directly from Manila, where he had been General Manager of the 632-room Edsa Shangri-La, since December 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Rice's Shangri-La portfolio also includes Shangri-La's Fijian Resort and Fiji Mocambo Hotel in Fiji; Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort, Singapore; and Shangri-La Hotels in Beijing and Hangzhou.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Rice has been appointed general manager of Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai.
