{"id":33659,"date":"2006-07-19T07:26:41","date_gmt":"2006-07-18T23:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2006\/07\/19\/eight-hong-kong-airlines-increase-fuel-surcharge\/"},"modified":"2006-07-19T07:26:41","modified_gmt":"2006-07-18T23:26:41","slug":"eight-hong-kong-airlines-increase-fuel-surcharge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2006\/07\/19\/33659\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight Hong Kong Airlines Increase Fuel Surcharge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the constant increase of oil prices on the international market, the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong SAR has approved 26 airlines in the region to extend their term for fuel surcharge collection and eight of them to raise the fuel surcharge.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The new fuel surcharge standard, which is 7% higher than the current one, will go into effect on August 1, 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The 8 airlines companies are Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Royal Nepal Airlines, Shandong Airlines and Xiamen Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>Fuel prices have increased by an accumulative 12% in the past month and by 23% sicne the start of 2006.
