{"id":34064,"date":"2006-10-31T15:31:47","date_gmt":"2006-10-31T07:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2006\/10\/31\/global-hotel-alliance-merges-with-asian-hotels-alliance\/"},"modified":"2006-10-31T15:31:47","modified_gmt":"2006-10-31T07:31:47","slug":"global-hotel-alliance-merges-with-asian-hotels-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2006\/10\/31\/34064\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Hotel Alliance Merges With Asian Hotels Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Global Hotel Alliance partners Kempinski, Omni, Pan Pacific and Rydges have welcomed three new members to the GHA.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>From January 1, 2007, the Asian Hotels Alliance will merge with GHA, immediately bringing Dusit Hotels &#038; Resorts, Landis Hotels &#038; Resorts and Marco Polo Hotels as new members of GHA, while Meritus Hotels &#038; Resorts and New Otani Hotels have an option to join GHA during the next 12 months. GHA thus consolidates its position as the world's largest hotel alliance of independent and individual brands.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2002, AHA has been made up of five of Asia's most respected hotel groups, who joined to form an alliance of uniquely Asian hotel properties. Their members shared the philosophy of gracious service that distinguishes the art of Asian hospitality as the finest in the world. Now merging with GHA, the firmly established branding of each individual hotel company will be enhanced through broader sales, marketing and distribution networks.<\/p>\n<p>To mark the announcement of this exciting merger, GHA has launched its new website at globalhotelalliance.com. The new site offers not only attractive prices and ease of booking at all GHA hotels, but also enables customers and travel agents to book flights.<\/p>\n<p>GHA is now a fully incorporated company, based in Geneva, Switzerland, from where it plans to continue expanding its membership.<\/p>\n<p>GHA's CEO Chris Hartley says, \"It's great news to merge with such a like-minded organization as AHA. Asia is today home to the world's largest emerging markets and this merger gives GHA superb coverage of a continent that is becoming increasingly important for business and attractive for leisure.\"<\/p>\n<p>GHA now consists of 186 upscale and luxury hotels and resorts, spread over 39 different countries. Each brand is a key player in their main region of operation. Kempinski in Europe; Omni in North America; Pan Pacific in the Pacific Rim; Rydges in Australia and New Zealand, Dusit in Thailand, Landis in Taiwan and mainland China and Marco Polo in mainland China and Hong Kong.
