{"id":34129,"date":"2006-11-16T07:47:35","date_gmt":"2006-11-15T23:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2006\/11\/16\/amadeus-signs-global-reservation-deal-with-airasia\/"},"modified":"2006-11-16T07:47:35","modified_gmt":"2006-11-15T23:47:35","slug":"amadeus-signs-global-reservation-deal-with-airasia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2006\/11\/16\/34129\/","title":{"rendered":"Amadeus Signs Global Reservation Deal With AirAsia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AirAsia and Amadeus have signed an agreement for the airline to distribute and sell its seats through the Amadeus system.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Through the agreement, all Amadeus travel agents and corporate customers across the globe will have full access to book seats on all the three carriers in the AirAsia family&#8211;AirAsia, Thai AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia&#8211;as well as Fly Asian Xpress.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive of AirAsia Berhad said, \"We are pleased to work with a global leader such as Amadeus. This agreement will see AirAsia deploy a next generation distribution solution for ticketless travel in Asia Pacific. Having pioneered and revolutionized air travel in Asia by providing incredibly low fares so more people can fly, this is yet another step for us to reach out to an even wider range of travellers.\"<\/p>\n<p>According to the International Air Transport Association in their 2005 to 2009 forecast summary, all international passenger routes will grow by 5.6% while travel within Asia Pacific is estimated to grow by 6.8%.<\/p>\n<p>In year 2005, 46.7 million passengers took off from Changi airport; 45 million each from Hong Kong international airport, Bangkok and KL international airport while Seoul Incheon attracted 30 million.<\/p>\n<p>David Brett, President Amadeus Asia Pacific said, \"Our partnership with AirAsia reinforces the value of travel agency distribution as an important complementary sales channel for low cost carriers.
