{"id":34196,"date":"2006-11-29T06:55:26","date_gmt":"2006-11-28T22:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2006\/11\/29\/wannings-shimei-bay-preps-new-hotel-development-for-2008\/"},"modified":"2006-11-29T06:55:26","modified_gmt":"2006-11-28T22:55:26","slug":"wannings-shimei-bay-preps-new-hotel-development-for-2008","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2006\/11\/29\/34196\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanning's Shimei Bay Preps New Hotel Development For 2008"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Qian Jian, deputy general manager of China Resources Shimei Bay Tourism Development Company, has disclosed that two five-star hotels will be launched at Shimei Bay in Hainan Province right before the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>One of the two hotels is Le Meridien Shimei Bay Beach &#038; Spa Resort and the other is The Westin Resort Shimei Bay.<\/p>\n<p>The Shimei Bay tourism development project is undertaken by China Resources Shimei Bay Tourism Development Company and is one of the key tourism investments of Hainan. It occupies 12 sq kilometers and involves a total investment of RMB5 billion. The construction of the project was started at the end of 2003.<\/p>\n<p>According to the plan, by the year 2017 there will be 2200 hotel rooms and apartments which can accept 4 million tourists per year in the Shimei Bay area.
