{"id":34575,"date":"2005-06-17T00:41:29","date_gmt":"2005-06-16T16:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2005\/06\/17\/continental-airlines-starts-new-route-between-new-york-and-beijing\/"},"modified":"2005-06-17T00:41:29","modified_gmt":"2005-06-16T16:41:29","slug":"continental-airlines-starts-new-route-between-new-york-and-beijing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2005\/06\/17\/34575\/","title":{"rendered":"Continental Airlines Starts New Route Between New York And Beijing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"60\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/images\/continentalairlines_logo_120x60.gif\" width=\"120\" align=\"right\">Continental Airlines yesterday became the first U.S. passenger airline to initiate flights to mainland China in nearly 20 years as it inaugurated new daily service from its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport to Beijing.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Continental, which serves more cities around the world than any other carrier, is launching service to Beijing as part of a major international expansion this year, including inauguration of six new transatlantic routes between May and November.<\/p>\n<p>The New York-Beijing service is operated with a 283-seat Boeing 777 aircraft, including 48 seats in BusinessFirst and 235 seats in economy.<\/p>\n<p>Flight 89 departs Liberty each day at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Beijing at 12:55 p.m. the next day. Returning, flight 88 departs Beijing at 3:05 p.m., arriving at Liberty at 4:35 p.m. the same day. The flight is approximately 13 hours.<\/p>\n<p>This flight is the only nonstop service between New York and mainland China operated by a U.S. airline. Travelers save hours by avoiding the need to make a connection in another city when traveling between New York and China.
