The hotel, located in Sanya, will be at the forefront of major new international developments in Hainan Island.

At the signing ceremony, Rendezvous was appointed to provide technical consultancy services to the project and to manage the hotel for the next ten years.

Known as the Hawaii of the Orient, Hainan Island is located in the South China Sea, approximately 11 nautical miles south of the continent and enjoys a year-round tropical climate. Sanya is one of the two major cities on the island, and it is primarily a hub to access the neighbouring beach resorts.

The hotel, to be known as the Rendezvous Baohong Hotel Sanya, is located in the heart of the picturesque Dadonghai Bay (Great East Sea Bay) area, one of the three major beaches of Sanya and the one closest to the city. Visitor arrivals to Hainan Island have increased significantly over the past five years, primarily from the domestic market and are expected to continue showing strong growth.

The hotel offers 300 rooms and 31 suites including a Presidential Suite and is divided into two parts; the hotel building and the recreation centre. The hotel building features a 9-meter high lobby, a Chinese restaurant, a grand dinner hall for 300 persons, and 10 meeting rooms. It is connected to the recreation centre by a western-style restaurant which will be operated by Rendezvous in addition to all facilities and rooms in the hotel building. The recreation centre has four floors, with a huge 25-meter high lobby featuring a night club, bar, Karaoke, restaurant .and coffee shop. The hotel is only 500 metres from the 7 kilometre white sand beach and crystal-clear waters where guests can enjoy a range of water sports or simply relax.

Rendezvous Chief Executive, Mr. Alan Featherby says, We are excited about this commitment to further developing the Rendezvous group in China and are delighted to be working with the owner, Sanya Baohong Industry Company, Ltd., who built the hotel. We believe this to be a leading initiative by Rendezvous in supporting the development of this relatively undiscovered stunning resort destination. The property fits within Rendezvous' key parameters for future expansion and will add to our existing presence in China, following the successful opening of the Rendezvous Merry Hotel in Shanghai last year.

Rendezvous, a subsidiary of the Singapore listed public company, The Straits Trading Company Limited, currently operates 7 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region.

A signing ceremony was held in Shanghai to confirm Rendezvous Hotels International Private Limited's latest hotel project in China.
