With an increasing demand for ballroom, functions and outside catering events, JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai recently opened its new event showroom on the fifth floor of the hotel to showcase a host of table centre pieces, crockery, cutlery, upholstery and much more when speaking with guests on the details of their event.<\/p>\n

The Event's Showroom was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Marriott International's executive vice president for Asia Pacific, Geoff Garside; vice president for China, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Tuni Kyi; and vice president for China, Henry Lee. The presence of the executive members of Marriott International signifies the growing importance of this market in China.<\/p>\n
Director of food and beverage, Mark van der Wielen, is very excited about the new room and believes it will enhance the guest experience when discussing event details with sales, catering or event associates. He explains, It displays various china, glass and silverware items, table linens, chair cover options, decorative props, floral arrangements, creative cocktail trays and so on. When guests say they would like a red tablecloth, we can instantly offer them five types of red table cloths to choose from and this applies to napkins and chair covers. There is also an impressive collection of photo references of past high-end social catering, wedding, exhibitions and fashion events, both in the hotel and as outside catering events since the hotel opened in the last two years.<\/p>\n
