{"id":35015,"date":"2005-12-23T23:04:06","date_gmt":"2005-12-23T15:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/2005\/12\/23\/hktb-seeks-to-increase-tourism\/"},"modified":"2005-12-23T23:04:06","modified_gmt":"2005-12-23T15:04:06","slug":"hktb-seeks-to-increase-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/cn\/2005\/12\/23\/35015\/","title":{"rendered":"HKTB Seeks To Increase Tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"60\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinahospitalitynews.com\/images\/hktb_logo_120x60.gif\" width=\"120\" align=\"right\">The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) says it is supporting the Hong Kong SAR Government's initiative aimed at boosting the effects of tourism in Causeway Bay and Wanchai.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The programme will run throughout the festive season and will focus the attention of visitors and residents on these two popular districts on Hong Kong Island.<\/p>\n<p>In support of the initiative, the HKTB will operate a free circular shuttle service linking Golden Bauhinia Square with Wan Chai and Causeway Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Further enhancing the festive mood, the HKTB will also deploy Santa Clauses between the bus stops on Lockhart and Hennessy roads every afternoon on December 22-27, who will hand out souvenirs to passers-by.<\/p>\n<p>To sustain the effects of the promotion into the New Year, the HKTB is also distributing more than 30,000 tickets for the forthcoming Product Expo in Victoria Park among prospective visitors and local trade operators in key markets around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Welcoming the plan, HKTB Chairman, The Hon Mrs Selina Chow, GBS, OBE, JP, said that it would reinforce the HKTB's ongoing efforts to promote Causeway Bay and Wanchai as two of Hong Kong's leading areas for shopping, dining and entertainment.
