Xinjiang Lai Yuan Real Estate Development Company and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced this week that the two companies have signed a new management agreement for a Traders hotel in Urumqi of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, opening in early 2007.<\/p>\n

The capital of Xinjiang region, Urumqi, lies west of the Bogda Mountain and boasts rich natural resources and a cultural heritage that have made Urumqi a special destination for business and leisure travellers. <\/p>\n
The 39-storey Traders Hotel, Urumqi is to be located in the central business district of the city, a 30-minute drive from the airport. The hotel's accommodations will feature 500 guest rooms with a minimum floor space of 35 square metres. In addition to a host of Traders signature amenities and services, each room will showcase mountain or city views. Occupying three floors of the hotel, the Traders Club will offer exclusive privileges and services such as express check-in and check-out, free use of meeting room, and a club lounge for daily breakfast and cocktails. The hotel is part of a large complex consisting of offices, residential and retail.<\/p>\n
Dining and entertainment facilities will include a coffee shop, Chinese restaurant, Western restaurant and local specialty restaurant. Meeting and banqueting facilities will feature a 1,200 square-metre pillar-less grand ballroom, and other function rooms with a total space of 500 square metres. Other facilities such as business centre, fitness centre and indoor swimming pool will also be available.<\/p>\n
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently manages 44 hotels under the Shangri-La and Traders Hotels brands. Traders Hotels, the group's four-star properties, are designed to satisfy the needs of the fast growing mid-market travel segment by offering a comprehensive range of facilities, and swift and friendly service, at competitive rates. Traders Hotels offer executive floors and lounges, fitness facilities and business centres. Introduced in 1989, Traders Hotels are located in Beijing, Dubai, Manila, Singapore, Shenyang and Yangon, with scheduled openings in Changzhou, Kunshan, Suzhou and Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
